Alexis Garrett Stodghill is a segment and new media producer for MSNBC Live with Thomas Roberts, a two hour news program that airs weekdays at 1 p.m. EST on MSNBC. Previously, she wrote and edited for theGrio.com, a news site that focuses on African-American perspectives. During her tenure there, she received an award for her work encompassing issues as diverse as the Trayvon Martin case, and skin-tone discrimination within the black community. Alexis got her start in the Internet industry developing leading sites such as BlackPlanet.com and at the groundbreaking company Agency.com. Ms. Stodghill graduated summa cum laude from Brown University with a double major in Modern Culture and Media and English and American Literature. She has written for New York's Daily News, Ebony, Jet, and BlackVoices.com among many other outlets. Alexis lives in New York City.
